Broadway Cares is a non-profit organization that raises money to fight AIDS. Since its founding in 1988 it has raised over $285 million and has helped innumerable people with AIDS, HIV, or HIV-related illnesses. Part of Broadway Cares’s fundraising effort is the Annual Gypsy of the Year Competition, which will be happening December 4 at 4:30 PM and December 5 at 2 pm. It will take place at the New Amsterdam Theatre (home of Aladdin)
The Competition celebrates the talented ensemble members of Broadway and Off- Broadway, who perform for a chance to win the Gypsy of the Year award. Plus, the shows that raise the most money in the six weeks before the Competition receive a Gypsy of the Year award!
