If you are attending a Broadway show with a friend, or two, or three, odds are you will need a quality picture to post on Instagram later. Where to take said picture, you ask? Well, luckily we know a little thing or two about the theatre district (They call us geniuses or something.) We have scoped out the best locations to get a group picture/selfie prior to or after your Broadway Show.
First things first, you have to stop by Shubert Alley to admire the latest Broadway show posters located between West 44th Street and West 45th next to the Shubert Theatre. Select the poster of the show you are seeing, gather your friends, and take a picture under the lights of the Alley. Take one in front of the Bandstand poster and pretend Laura Osnes is in your squad for the day.We also recommend indulging in Junior’s legendary cheesecake before or after your selfie located across the street from Shubert Alley. After you’re done taking your pic, head to One Shubert Alley to collect all of your Broadway memorabilia- heck, get it before and include your Cats t-shirt in your photo!
If you are going for a more artsy approach to your photo, stand at Broadway and West 45th, turn to your left and pose capturing the Marquee of several Broadway theatres behind you including: The Booth, Schoenfeld, Jacobs, and Golden. This selfie spot is picturesque right before the sun goes down.
If you are a classic musical fan, stop by 42nd street to get a picture where 42nd street meets Broadway and dream of your name in lights. Have someone take your picture with Times Square in the background. It doesn’t get more “New York” than Broadway and 42nd.
